Will Young, Sony Music / 19 Entertainment - Case Study

Brief

We were first asked to design and build Will’s website in October 2005. We produced six interactive video headers for this and a custom Content Management System. It is periodically revisited to coincide with new releases. We've also created various micro sites to support a selection of tours and special releases. This site, in its third generation, needed a re-design to complement and promote 'The Hits' album.

Solution

For the "Let It Go" album, Ten4 spent a day in the studio with Will and a high speed video camera. We captured lots of rich, unique footage which was edited into 12 triptychs to form the focal point of each section. It was felt that this footage was still relevant to the new release so in addition we created a new video montage of the 12 classic videos from "The Hits" which now heads up the home page. The rest of the site was restyled with animated banners and a new colour scheme to reflect the look and feel of the album artwork. Original features, such as the huge video player, were kept intact.

Result

In a flurry of activity on the Forum and the site, Will's fans have approved the new design:

"Love the new look. Great to see all the clips from WILL's videos." Hannelore

"Absolutely love the new look website. It certainly stands out. Never expected to log in and find this today. We have been truly spoilt this week. Well done to everybody involved." **Charlotte**
