Dave and Si are the most successful bearded motorcycling culinary experts in the country and their TV shows, books and kitchen products are as popular as ever.
Our brief was to structure, design and build the new Hairy Bikers' website. We wanted it to convey their big personalities, have a fun and lighthearted feel, and be a comprehensive compendium of all things hairy (so to speak). The latest content from across the site is aggregated on the homepage, keeping it fresh and up to date and the rest of the site displays the breadth of the Hairy Bikers' work clearly and comprehensively whilst retaining their distinctive, personable style.
The Bikers wanted to be able to relate different types of content throughout the site, such as news, products (books, kitchen utensils and so on), shows, recipes and videos. A tagging function in the CMS allows connections to be made between sections, enabling high visibility of relevant products and other engaging content.
Thought, discussion and feedback is encouraged through commenting and like and tweet buttons allow sharing on the big social networks.
In conjunction with the launch of the site and the Bikers' Perfect Pies book, we built a pie-making competition on Facebook. Users can cook a pie of their choice, upload a photo to the gallery and the public choose their favourite using a simple voting system. The top 10 pies win a signed copy of the book.
The Perfect Pie gallery on Facebook.
We've had really positive feedback from people saying they love the new site. It reflects the brand perfectly, is user friendly and entertaining. A dynamic site is key to keeping our fans informed and up to date. Simple to navigate with a subtle yet strong commercial edge. Well done one and all. Si & Dave, The Hairy Bikers
